Ever wonder what a typical day is like for a [vlogger] YouTuber? As someone who has made daily vlogs and videos my full-time job, no two days are ever quite the same. But there are some routines and responsibilities that make up my average day in the life of a YouTube [vlogger].

Here’s a peek inside what my daily schedule and tasks look like to keep my [vlog] channel running:

Morning Routine

My day starts early, around 8 AM, to get a jump on the many activities ahead. I’m not a morning person by nature, so coffee is essential! I also try to workout, meditate or stretch first thing to get grounded.

Next, I’ll check analytics and comments from the previous day’s video to see how it’s performing. Responding to comments is a daily task.

Video Planning

After catching up on social media and channel analytics, my next task is planning future videos. This involves finalizing video ideas, checking upcoming dates, and mapping out an editorial calendar for the week.

As a daily [vlogger], planning videos in advance is crucial to stay consistent. I keep a running list of video ideas that I’m constantly adding to.

Filming

Time to start creating! If filming a sit-down video like a review or tutorial, I’ll get set up in my studio space and prep any equipment needed. If I’m doing a vlog, I charge all my gear and am ready to hit the road.

Filming takes a few hours on average, sometimes more for travel vlogs. I try to film at least 2 videos per day if possible to have a buffer.

Lunch Break

A much needed lunch break around midday helps recharge. I’ll grab a quick meal while catching up on non-work emails and messages. This refuel is a good chance to take a mental breather before diving back in.

Video Editing

After filming, video editing takes up a big chunk of my afternoon. I find editing enjoyable, but it’s definitely time intensive. This is where all the raw pieces get pieced together with graphics, music and transitions.

My goal is to get at least one video fully edited and exported by the end of the day. But if I filmed a lot, editing may continue into the evening.

Meetings and Outreach

If I don’t have a call, I’ll use this time to reach out to brands for potential collaborations or catch up on business emails. Most sponsorships and partnership opportunities happen through consistent outreach.

I also sometimes have pitch meetings with brands or strategy meetings with my manager during this time of day. Phone calls are squeezed between all the content tasks.

Social Media Marketing

Once my video is exported, I’ll upload it to YouTube as the day’s release. I also create posts with clips, quotes and graphics to share across my other social platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Promoting new videos through social media is a daily ritual. This gives videos maximum visibility when they go live.

Community Interaction

Before calling it a day, I make sure to have meaningful interactions with my audience. I’ll respond to comments, typically spending an hour or more replying.

I also may go live on Instagram or hop into a Discord chat with my community. Having genuine dialogues beyond just creating content is my favorite part of the job.

Evening Wind Down

In the evening, I like to unplug from work by reading, spending time with family or streaming a show. Disconnecting in the evenings preserves creativity and lets me recharge.

I’ll jot down video ideas if inspiration strikes, but try to leave work behind until the next morning. Sleep is so essential!

And that wraps up my average day in the life of a [vlogger] YouTuber! No two days are exactly the same, but this reflects a typical schedule. It’s a busy job, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love being able to share my passion with viewers every single day.
